Backstory

Backstory: Your father (Xavik) got into financial trouble after a failed business investment. He went to a local loan shark (Snellffwess) for a loan that could not be paid off. Snellffwess taught your father a lesson by killing his wife (Siwabhe). One of the thugs that worked for Snellffwess got caught up in the moment and also killed your father calling him a 'cheap motherfucker'. This infuriated Snellffwess who screamed at the thug "How the hell can I collect money from a dead wookie?!?!". Snellffwess then shot the offending thug dead and Snellffwess stewed for a moment when his other thug said "What about the kid? Maybe he has the money?". Snellffwess's demeanor immediately changed and said "Let's go find him!". As the words left his mouth they heard sounds of law enforcement coming. Snellffwess said "We'll come back for the kid". You witnessed all of this from a remote room. After law enforcement left your head is spinning with emotions and thought.

In the morning you decide that the safest thing to do is leave and come back another time when your head is clearer. You gather whatever credits you can find around the house, grab a satchel full of crossbow bolts, your Bowcaster, your Ryyk blades, your blaster and head to the spaceport. There you find multiple vendors that sell Transliterators ... a very common item sold to wookies going off planet. You board a ship was headed to Jadaarn. There you begin to look for work. You spot a sign for field workers for the local farms. Your big hands and lack of agricultural knowledge find you struggling. Supervisors are yelling at you that you are wasting food and costing them money.

After a few exhausting weeks your supervisor recommends that you find work somewhere else. He suggests going to the base to see if they have any work for you to do. When you arrive on base you are lucky to find a janitorial spot is available ... no experience required. Scrubbing toilets and mopping floors isn't glamourous work but the food and bed are free. Using your Transliterator you develop a camaraderie with the other staff. The cafeteria cook digs up a couple of Wookie recipes and modifies them for the masses. It does vaguely remind you of home.

One night you are at a bar minding your own business when 4 guys enter in a loud fashion. One of them yells out "There's the Wookie that stole your Relby!". You grab your Transliterator and yell back "I didn't take your stupid pop gun blaster. My fingers wouldn't even fit that tiny trigger!". Nonetheless 3 of the 4 of them rush you in an attempt to get into a fight. The bartender, very used to this situation, immediately contacts the MPs. In the meantime, your martial arts training kicks in and you QUICKLY subdue all 3 assailants who rushed you. The 4th one looks at you with a mixture of fear and ashonishment in his face. You look at him and give him a Wookie war roar which sends him running out of the bar. Shortly after this happens, the MPs show up and interrogate you. You are polite (through your Transliterator) and describe to them what happened. Unprompted, an observer to the fight steps in and corroborates your story. The MPs seem to know the mystery observer and his corroboration satifies the MPs who then leave with the first 3 assailants in cuffs.

The mystery observer approaches you and says that he was very impressed with your skills. You politely thank him and offer him a drink. After a bit of chitchat, the mystery observer tells you that his name is Zamin Larke and he is one of the combat instructors on base. He asks if you can see him tomorrow but you indicate that you have to work tomorrow cleaning toilets. Zamin is dumbfounded "You can fight like that and they have you cleaning toilets? I will speak to your supervisor and get you a 'day off'". The next day comes and sure enough you got the day off! During all of the the martial arts tests you pull your punch. Zamin catches you doing this and says "Why are you pulling your punch. Hit me!". You shake your head and during the next melee, hit him full strength which stuns him. Shaking it off Zamin says "Good ... you can handle yourself in a fight. Now let's try this.". Zamin pulls out a staff and begins to melee with you. After several rounds of even competition you tell Zamin "I'll be right back". With a puzzled look he watches you run off and return a few minutes later with your Ryyk Blades.

Zamin's eyes were wide as saucers when he saw your Ryyk blades. "I've heard of them but never seen them. May I take a look?". You show him the blades as you attach a guard that blunts the blade for training. You reach into your satchel, put a red chalk on the blade guard and take a ready stance. You and the combat instructor then engage in weapon-on-weapon combat. At the end of several rounds you know that he hit you but Zamin bore a fair share of red chalk marks also. With a pleased look on his face, Zamin says "Let's go to my office to chat for a bit.". On the walk to his office, you spot a firing range. Again you tell Zamin "Be right back!". This time Zamin let's you go and waits for you. You return with your bowcaster and walk up to one of the lanes when Zamin stops you. "No no no. That's not how we do it here. Come ... let's go talk to fire seargant.". After a brief interaction, the combat instructor tells him that this is a potential soldier and I need to test his skill with this bowcaster. After a card swipe the seargant assigns a fire lane to both of you.

Before you begin to fire, Zamin inspects the bowcaster (to make sure it's safe) and asks to fire it first. You oblige, he fires and is convinced of its safety. You line up your shot and let fly! You hit your target more than 9 out of 10 times. Zamin is impressed. He tells you "My furry friend, your days of scrubbing toilets is over. Report to my office tomorrow and we will get you reassigned."
